Six-Step Process
Step 1 — Choose your style, size, and frame
Pick one of our ten signature styles: Classic Renaissance Royal, Watercolour Garden, Impressionist Golden Hour, Japanese Ukiyo-e Great Wave Fusion, Van Gogh Starry Night, or Comic Book Hero. Select your frame size (Small, Medium, or Large) and frame colour (Black, White, Natural Wood, or Dark Wood).
Not sure which style suits the recipient? Our Pet Portrait Gift Guide maps styles to recipient personalities and interiors. If you’re honouring a pet who has passed, please read the Memorial Portrait Guide first — the guidance differs meaningfully.
Step 2 — Upload your photo
Upload one clear photo of your pet at checkout. Natural daylight, three-quarter or face-forward angle, in focus, eyes visible. A phone photo from the last few years is almost always fine. Send two or three if you’d like us to pick the strongest.
Optional: in the order notes, describe a custom scene if you want something specific (“my cat on Tower Bridge at sunset”), include multiple pets (up to four in one composition, no extra charge), or request an inscription for memorial portraits.
Step 3 — We review and generate
A member of our team reviews your photo before anything is generated. If the photo has a problem we can’t work around — severe blur, heavy shadows, an obscured face — we email you within a few hours to discuss alternatives. We don’t silently accept poor photos and produce mediocre work.
Once the photo is approved, our process generates your portrait using the fine-tuned model specific to your chosen style. Each of our ten styles uses a different pipeline calibrated for that aesthetic. Every output is an original composition — not a template with your pet inserted. The full technical explanation is in our AI Pet Portrait Guide.
Step 4 — Preview within 24 hours (12 for memorials)
You receive a digital preview by email within twenty-four hours of ordering. Memorial orders typically receive previews within twelve hours because we prioritise them.
Look at the preview carefully. Check the face, the markings, the expression, the eye colour. If anything isn’t quite right — the eyes feel slightly off, the background is busier than you’d like, the expression reads too serious — tell us. We’ll revise.
Step 5 — Unlimited revisions, no charge, no auto-approval
You can request revisions as many times as you need. There is no per-revision fee. There is no time limit. There is no 72-hour auto-approval that some services use to pressure customers into accepting the first preview.
Most customers approve on the first preview. Some request one round of adjustments. A small number take several rounds. All are welcome — we keep working until you’re genuinely happy.
Step 6 — Print, frame, and ship
Once you approve, your portrait is printed at the nearest local facility in our 14-country print network and shipped tracked to your door. Canvas arrives fully framed in your chosen frame colour, with hanging hardware pre-installed and ready to hang.
Typical total time from order to doorstep:
- UK: 5–7 days

Common questions
Is this AI, or hand-painted?
artist-directed, with human quality review at multiple stages. Our team reviews your photo before generation, reviews the output before sending you the preview, and checks the print file before it goes to the print facility. AI is the tool that makes fine-art print portraits accessible at this price point; human oversight is what keeps quality reliable.
What if my photo isn’t great?
Send it anyway. We review every photo personally before generating, and we’ll email you within a few hours if we think the photo won’t produce a great portrait. In that case we’ll suggest alternatives. We don’t charge you until we’re confident we can deliver quality.
Can I include multiple pets?
Yes, up to four pets in a single composition, no extra charge. Send separate photos of each pet — you don’t need a group shot. We handle the compositing.
Can I describe a custom scene?
Yes. Anything reasonable works: a meaningful location (your garden, a favourite walking route, a specific room), a seasonal setting (autumn leaves, winter snow, spring blossoms), a narrative scene (“my dog as a Victorian gentleman reading a newspaper”). Describe it in the order notes.
What if I want to cancel or change the order?
Before preview approval: easy. Email us and we’ll refund or adjust. After preview approval (printing has started): reprints are possible at cost for genuine quality issues, but changes of mind are harder once printing is underway.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Free tracked delivery to UK, US, EU, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and most other countries. Printing happens at the nearest local facility via our 14-country network, which means faster delivery and a smaller carbon footprint than centralised shipping.
How do I know the preview looks like my pet?
That’s exactly why we have the preview stage. You see the portrait before anything is printed. If it doesn’t capture your pet the way you want, tell us — unlimited free revisions until it does. Many customers report that the preview itself is when the emotional moment hits: seeing their pet rendered as a proper work of art for the first time.
